            Imagine a life where working feels like a hobby. That’s a reality for Nicole Stich, who runs a food blog with her significant other, Oliver Seidel. The pair live together in a German town called Munich. The 31 year-old has a passion for not only photography but also for writing and food. Nicky’s passions for these things have led her to not working everyday but rather exploring her hobbiest farther.

 

            At the beginning of 2005 Nicole and Oliver decided to launch their food blog, Delicious Days. In the early days of the blog the pair didn’t think that their blog would be the number one food blog in Germany or that it would be on Time magazine’s 50 best websites worldwide. Even though Nicole lives in Germany she decided at the start to have the website be in English. She came to this decision because of the vast terminology for food terms while the German food vocabulary is quite limited. Nicole also thinks that Germany is lacking in their food magazines so maybe that will be her next step.

 

            The success of Delicious Days has given Nicole Stich the opportunity to write two cookbooks and co-write another. Her first book was published in 2008, the title is Delicious Days, just like her blog. It is sold in both English and German. After her success with her first cookbook, Nicole was approached by Coco Lang to co-write a book with her. They collaborated, taking Nicole’s kitchen smarts and Coco’s gifting skills and came up with Gift Ideas from the Kitchen which was published in 2011. Most recently in 2013, Nicole wrote her second solo cook book called Sweets. If it weren’t for her original love of photography and food these three amazing books wouldn’t have been possible.

 

            All of the pictures on Delicious Days are 100%  taken by Nicole Stich. She believes in documenting not only the sucssessses in her work but also her failers. The blog is to document her food pictures, recipes and silly little stories that may have gone along with that certain recipe. She takes all of her photos at her kitchen table using natural lighting. The camera Nicky uses is a compact digital camera from Fujifilm. Some of the pictures may be edited slightly in photoshop but that’s only used to ajust brightness and contrast.

 

            Nicole is living her dream and it’s all thanks to her love of food and taking pictures. The success of her food blog, Delicious Days, has let her quit her day job and do what she really loves to do, take pictures. Nicole Stich and her husband, Oliver Seidel, are going to continue to impress people through the years with their beautiful pictures.
